OUR STORY

Growing Food, Knowledge & Community Together

Santiam Community Gardens is a welcoming nonprofit space where neighbors come together to grow fresh food, learn practical gardening skills, share resources, and strengthen the local community.

WELCOME TO SANTIAM COMMUNITY GARDENS

A Place to Grow, Learn, Share & Belong

Santiam Community Gardens was created to make gardening, fresh food, and practical education more accessible to local residents. The garden provides space, plants, tools, guidance, and a supportive environment where people of all ages and experience levels can participate.

More than a place to grow vegetables, the garden is a place where neighbors build relationships, learn from one another, preserve seasonal food, and work together to make the community stronger.

Everyone is welcome—from first-time gardeners to experienced growers, families, volunteers, and visitors who simply want to reconnect with nature.

WHY WE EXIST

Our Purpose

Every program, class, garden plot, and shared harvest supports our commitment to education, food access, sustainability, and community connection.

MORE THAN A GARDEN

Learning Happens in Every Season

Santiam Community Gardens offers hands-on education throughout the year, including weekend trainings, gardening demonstrations, food preservation classes, seasonal workshops, and opportunities to learn directly from experienced growers.

Participants can discover how to start seeds, care for plants, preserve harvested foods, reduce waste, and make the most of what they grow.
